1994 - present Freelance biological and medical illustrator working in digital media including Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator CC, and traditional media such as watercolour, pencils and pen and ink.

Areas of illustration include veterinary medicine and surgery; medical art; molecular and cell biology; animal anatomy, physiology and all aspects of zoology; botany, plant anatomy and physiology, taxonomy; all areas of biology/life science at any level, from school right up to specialised areas of expert knowledge; palaeontology, including fossil vertebrates and invertebrates, hominid evolution, palaeobotany.

2002-2003 Artist's residency at the Grant Museum of Zoology, University College London.

I developed a range of resources including a floor plan and information guide, a geological time trail, several postcards and colouring-in sheets for younger visitors showing reconstructions of animal and plant life during the main geological eras represented by the Museum's collection.

2000-2005 In-house illustrator at Nature Publishing Group

Part-time freelance position creating diagrams for the News & Views, Insights and Brief Communications features of Nature and other associated journals.

1993 Placement at Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew

Creation of many line and colour botanical artworks from specimens in Kew's collection, for use in trail guides, educational posters on plant taxonomy and evolution, the Marine Display guide and the National Curriculum Education Pack.

Other interests: I am a volunteer for Cats Protection. I also enjoy amateur photography, especially macro photography, and have an interest in the medicinal and culinary uses of herbs.
